Museum Introduction
Lothal Museum Dholera is more than a museum—it’s a journey back in time. Located in Dholera, Gujarat, the museum celebrates the legacy of one of the world’s earliest planned cities and a remarkable maritime civilization.
Lothal, meaning “mound of the dead,” was a thriving port city of the Indus Valley Civilization around 2400 BCE, famous for its advanced dockyard, urban planning, and trade with Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Persia.
Through curated artifacts and interactive exhibits, Lothal Museum Dholera brings the spirit of Lothal to life, showcasing beads, seals, pottery, and tools of ancient craftsmen.
Visitors can explore the heritage of the Indus Valley Civilization and experience a powerful connection between the past and the present.
